O. Jacques toy piano | ||
|
I recently restored a miniature piano I would like to find out more about. It has 32 notes with individually tuneable strings strung across a cast iron frame. It is labeled as "O. Jacques - St. Hyacinthe". My web searches have not turned up any company of that name at all.
I have not seen a Schoenhut toy piano in the flesh, but I am starting to wonder if that is the maker and that O. Jacques is a "stencil name", just like so many real piano names. Can anyone shed any light on this?? Please help. J. Goering |

not Schoenhut | ||

I don't know the name but the piano is definitely not Schoenhut if it has strings. Toy pianos have metal bars instead of strings. A miniature piano that has real strings is quite rare. Sorry I couldn't be more informative!

I am in possession of a Schoenhut toy baby grand piano much like the one on your web site toy page near the bottom. One you do not own. Mine is not in such good shape but has the potential to be restored. Could you give me an estimated price range of these pianos? I am not a piano enthusiaist, I got it from an aunt that was an antique dealer. I have been lugging the thing around for years and realize now that it may be of some value to someone. Please e-mail me at

I like this website. I started collecting pianos 2 years ago and the top of my studio piano is covered with them now. Also I have a lot of Christmas tree ornaments. Piano and organ are what I like. It is hard to find them in stores. I will post more and show some pictures. w
