Long time, no post.
Went to live in Malaga, Spain for 3 months last fall.
Was planning on making a pilgrimage to Gibraltar to see filming sites for She Killed in Ecstasy and that black house I was so intrigued by.
Nevertheless, got sidetracked during my sojourn, burdened by business endeavors, a strange jet-lag fever for a month, etc.
But I did bring the DVD of Vampyros Lesbos and She Killed along with me and played it on my laptop one evening.
Was going to try to see if Jess Franco's jazz band was playing, but couldn't find any ads. Was in his hometown of Torremolinos several times.
The 13th floor apartment where I lived looked out upon apartments like in those scenes in the film while listening to the soundtrack CD.
Througout my sojourn in Malaga I kept an eye open for another Soledad in the streets--there are tons of beautiful women in Malaga that would be great in a Franco film. Dreamland. If I ever make a film I will cast in that town...noisy and dirty as it is...
Was interested to hear Soledad's actual voice on soledadmiranda.com , those mp3's. She sounds sort of like a hysterical college girl...
